Single Mother Now Making a Difference in Other People's Lives

Susan Waitley was a little frightened to perform her first night scuba dive in Cozumel last year. Peering into dark, forbidding-looking water from the boat, she almost lost her nerve. "But if I commit to something, it's hard to get me to back out," Susan says. "And the dive was absolutely incredible. Now I'm ready to do another one."

Susan has used that same determination and courage to build her successful USANA distributorship. she relied on her passion for USANA's products to get through those first demanding years of building her business. "I was ignorance on fire," Susan recalls. "But, I have always believed that there is only one direction I can go, and that's forward. So, I just dove right in with an absolute belief in the products and the company."

Today, Susan enjoys all the benefits of residual income. She recently purchased her dream car - a black Jaguar XKR con-vertible. She can't keep the excitement from her voice as she describes it. "It is so much fun! I never knew I could enjoy a car so much," she says. "And now that we're having Santa Ana weather here in California, I get to enjoy it even a little longer this season."

Susan acknowledges that she could not have achieved her success without her friends and family - especially her daughters, Kimberlyn and Lisa; their husbands, Steve and Brooks; and her grandchildren Nicholas, Emily, and David. Susan especially loves watching her children go through the enjoyment and challenges of raising their own children. "I just sit back and smile," she says.

Staying physically fit is another passion for Susan. On her recent scuba trip she completed nine dives, including her nighttime adventure. She recently took up snow skiing again - hitting Aspen, Park City, and Whistler in one season. Susan also has plans for a kayaking trip through Fiji and hopes to experience Italy. "Either hike it or bike it, I'm not sure yet. I don't feel my age, I don't want to look it - and I'm sure I don't act like it," she laughs. When not traveling, Susan often wakes up early and takes a walk in the hills behind her beautiful home. Three days a week she meets with a personal Pilates coach in addition to weight training. "I love keeping myself healthy," she explains. "When you keep your mind and body active, they will serve you better."

More than anything, Susan enjoys being at a place in her life where she can do the things she loves while helping other people accomplish their dreams. "Every morning I wake up and I'm eternally grateful for what USANA is providing for me," she says. "I'm doing something that truly makes a difference in people's lives. I wake up in the morning with a smile on my face and a song in my heart."
